Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance reflects the role of workers who provide therapeutic and program related support to allied health professionals. The worker is required to conduct therapeutic and program related activities under the guidance of an allied health professional. Supervision may be direct, indirect or remote and must occur within organisation requirements. The worker is required to identify client circumstances that need additional input from the allied health professional. The worker may be engaged to work in a specialty area or work generically across the organisation in delivery of allied health assistance services. The worker, in conjunction with the allied health professional, may have responsibility for supervising other allied health assistance workers.

Entry Requirement
There are NO previous work or education requirements for entry into this course. Students may enrol directly in the certificate IV level course without completing lower ranked qualifications.

Admission Requirements
Students must satisfy the following age, English and Academic requirements:
- Age: must be 17 years or over
- Undertake Pre-Training Review
- Undertake LLN and digital numeracy assessment: Learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy (ACSF Level 3) are desirable to participate in the course.
- Moderate level of computer literacy and has access to a computer/laptop/tablet/smart phone with an internet access

Course pathways after completing certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance
- HLT54115 Diploma of Nursing
- Bachelor of Nursing, Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy.

Practical Placement Requirements
To achieve Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance qualification the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work placement as detailed in the assessment requirements of the units of competency. If a student is unable to find appropriate work placement, Hammond Institute will assist in finding the work placements.
