CHCSS00070 – Assist Clients with Medication Skill Set
This skill set addresses the skills and knowledge required to work with basic information about the human body and prepare for and provide medication assistance and complete medication documentation. It also involves supporting a client to self-administer medication.

- Perform delegated or allocated allied health tasks within the disability sector

Entry Requirement
This skill set has been endorsed by industry as suitable for individuals who:
• hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in Community Services, Health or related field
or
• have skills equivalent to the qualification requirement validated through a recognition of prior learning process
or
• have substantial industry experience, on the job training and development along with supervisor assessment of capacity
Admission Requirements
Students must satisfy the following age, English, and Academic requirements: Age: must be 17 years or over Undertake Pre-Training Review |
Undertake LLN test: Learning, reading, writing, oral communication, and numeracy (ACSF Level 3) are desirable to participate in the course.

Pathways
These units provide credit towards a range of qualifications in the CHC Community Services Training Package, including the CHCSS00093 Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs.
The Alcohol and Other Drugs Skill Set will give you specialist skills to recognize and work effectively with clients who experience alcohol and/or other drug issues.
This course meets the minimum requirement set by the Department of Health and Human Services so you can establish or extend the parameters of your current employment in the AOD sector of community health.

All assessment will be conducted in accordance with the Training Package requirements, Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence.

Unit of Competency
To be eligible for the award of a Statement of Attainment for the CHCSS00093 – Alcohol and Other Drugs Skill Set, participants must successfully complete four units comprising:
• four (4) Core units
Where the full course is not completed, a Statement of Attainment will be issued for any completed unit/s.
