Course Overview

CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability course reflects the role of workers in a range of community settings and clients’ homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and well being. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

Students must satisfy the following age, English, and Academic requirements:

Age: must be 17 years or over

Undertake Pre-Training Review

Undertake LLN test: Learning, reading, writing, oral communication, and numeracy (ACSF Level 3) are desirable to participate in the course.

Study Material (optional)
Students will be given access to books in the classroom. For the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care recommended books are Frameworks for Learning and Development and The Business of Childcare. The books can be purchased from Hammond Institute for $130 or Cengage Learning Australia ISBN 9780170279048.

Pathways

Learners who successfully complete this course may progress into further studies in community service courses.

Unit of Competency

To be eligible for the award of a Statement of Attainment for the 22529VIC Course in Performing Allied Health Tasks and Supporting People with Disability, participants must successfully complete five units comprising:

•           five (5) Core units

Where the full course is not completed, a Statement of Attainment will be issued for any completed unit/s.
